BUILDING DRYER AND ELECTRIC HEATER

Hiring a building dryer is interesting for those who want to finish their home. It will save you time and the stress that is associated with lack of time. In certain cases, however, building dryers alone are not enough to get your building dry. It is important to properly inform yourself about this and to ask for a customised quote. There are circumstances where you will need extra fans and perhaps also additional heating. Below we briefly explain in which cases an electric heater is required.

When to combine building dryers with an electric heater?

An electric heater is only used if the room temperature is too low. The ideal drying temperature is 20 to 25°C, electric heating is therefore used with temperatures below 20°C. If the room temperature is less than 7°C, additional heating is even necessary.

Combine building dryers with an electric heater.

The reason is that at low temperatures, the building moisture does not evaporate fast enough, whereby less water is released from the plasterwork or the screed. However, as soon as we raise the room temperature, the building moisture will evaporate faster because more water is released.

You could compare it with a bucket of ice and a bowl of boiling water: at very low temperatures, like ice, there will be no evaporation at all, whilst at high temperatures, like boiling water, the moisture will evaporate much more quickly. In the winter, building dryers are more often combined with extra heating because warm air can hold more moisture than cold air.

Why hire an electric heater?

As already mentioned above, additional heating is necessary when the room temperature is too low. It is the most appropriate way of temporarily heating your home. If your new build home or space to be converted is not heated yet, you have no source of additional heating when it is needed. Your project budget should therefore also include the cost of electricity use for additional electric heating. Although electricity is not free, it remains the most interesting solution. An 18 kg gas cylinder quickly sets you back €45 and hauling it around is quite a chore.

Unlike gas or fuel oil heating, an electric heater produces clean, dry and odourless warm air. Even if the heating system will be connected in the near future, you can temporarily hire an electric heater to boost the effect of the building dryers. When you hire a set of building dryers in combination with an electric heater, the hiring of the latter can be stopped as soon as the permanent heating system has been started up. Also with sudden drops in temperature you can hire extra additional heating at buildingdryers.be.

Installing the electric heater

Setting up an electric heater does not imply any additional burden. We install the additional heating and the equipment does not take up much space.

Moreover, we use only professional equipment, our electric heaters, for example, are fitted with a special discharge grille that uniformly distributes the warm air within the room. This will avoid any burn stains on the screed.

Very well organized. When in doubt, they call you to find a solution (in our case, there was no finished drain in the basement, which was eventually fixed cleanly). They also come by to solve problems and are very reasonable in terms of compensation. Highly recommended!
